Oil lamps
I've been reading about different types of oil lamps. I understand the kind which use mantles are brighter that the ones using just a wick. I've used the latter and they don't offer much illumination.
Who makes a lamp which provides the greates amount of light ? I've checked Lehman's and they have oil lamps using mantles. Is there such a thing as an oil lamp with two burners/mantles for increased ilumination ? |

Re: Oil lamps
There's a difference between the cheap Walmart type oil lamps and the genuine Aladdin lamps (like Lehman's sells). The Aladdin lamps put out a great deal of light. And they burn kerosene very cleanly.

Re: Oil lamps
Aladdin. Accept no substitutes.
Look for antique lanterns in flea markets and antique stores. They can be re-outfitted with new hardware as Aladdin still manufactures parts to fit ALL of their products, new and old. |
